Public Enterprises and the Neo-Liberal Policy of Privatization and Commercialization in Nigeria
Abstract
This paper critically examines the impact of public enterprises and the neo-liberal policy of privatization and commercialization in Nigeria focusing on their implications for efficiency, service delivery, employment, and economic growth. Using the Public Choice Theory as a theoretical framework, the study explores how inefficiencies in public enterprises, such as corruption, bureaucratic bottlenecks, and political interference, have necessitated economic reforms aimed at improving service delivery and productivity.
