Abstract

Science, technology and mathematics education is crucial for the development of any
nation, as it equips citizens with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive innovation,
economic growth, and sustainable development. However, the teaching and learning of
science and technology in Nigerian secondary schools face numerous challenges, including
outdated curriculum, inadequate resources, and a lack of qualified teachers. This paper
argues that improving science, technology and mathematics education in Nigerian secondary
schools requires a multifaceted approach that addresses these challenges and prepares
students for success in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world.
