Survey of Hausa Loan Words in Jukun Language of Taraba State

This study explores the incorporation of Hausa loan words into the Jukun language spoken in Taraba State, Nigeria. Through a comprehensive survey, the research identifies and analyzes the phonological, morphological, and semantic adaptations of Hausa loan words into the Jukun language. The study employs qualitative methods, including field recordings, interviews, and questionnaires, to collect data from native Jukun speakers. The findings reveal a significant presence of Hausa loan words, influenced by historical trade, migration, and cultural interactions between the Hausa and Jukun communities. This linguistic borrowing reflects broader social
dynamics and highlights the impact of language contact on linguistic evolution. The study contributes to the understanding of language interaction and the processes of linguistic change in multilingual contexts.
