Abstract

The study examines the Lamiyya of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, a significant Islamic poem characterized by its literary richness and adherence to Islamic beliefs. The poem addresses various topics, including the nature of Allah, the Holy Qur'an, the virtues of the companions, concepts of Paradise and Hell, and the avoidance of misguided beliefs. It serves as a guide for believers, aiming to free
them from doubt and selfish desires while elevating their spiritual understanding. The research employs descriptive, analytical, and comparative methods, structured into an introduction, two main sections (presentation and analysis of the poem), and a conclusion with recommendations for deeper exploration of its literary merits. The findings reveal that, The Lamiyya is recognized as a masterpiece of Islamic poetry, utilizing simple language and clear ideas to communicate profound truths. In addition, it reflects the beliefs of the four major Islamic imams (Abu Hanifa, Malik, Shafi'i, and Ahmad Ibn Hanbal), emphasizing a unified understanding of faith. Furthermore, the poem's linguistic and literary qualities warrant further analysis to enhance comprehension and accessibility for future generations.
