This paper explores the transformative potential of integrating human intelligence with artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance research in the field of religion and society. The study examines how AI technologies, such as machine learning, natural language processing, and big data analytics, can complement traditional research methodologies to provide deeper insights into the complex interactions between religion and societal dynamics. This research work patronized both the primary and secondary means of data collection. It adopts the Sociotechnical Systems Theory (STS) in evaluating its deliberations. The necessary generalizations and conclusions were delineated strictly on the qualitative scrutiny and synthesis of the gathered data made through phenomenological and narrative analysis approach. Findings posit that by leveraging AI, researchers can analyze vast amounts of textual and social media data,
identify patterns and trends, and uncover previously inaccessible information. This synergistic approach not only augments the analytical capabilities of scholars but also facilitates more comprehensive and nuanced understandings of religious phenomena. The paper also addresses the ethical considerations and challenges associated with the use of AI in socio-religious research, advocating for a balanced and responsible integration of these technologies. Ultimately, the study demonstrates that the collaboration between human and artificial intelligence holds significant promise for advancing the study of religion and society, paving the way for innovative research methodologies and enhanced scholarly discourse.
