Abstract

Corporate planning has evolved to be a consideration in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), While CSR is like a chameleon, that changes its colour according to the context it is in. This study examined the influence of corporate planning on Corporate Social Responsibility of enterprises. The objectives of the study were to find out whether corporate planning contingency factors influence corporate social responsibility and to assess how organizations consider managerial choices in corporate1social responsibility. The study adopted the Qualitative Theoretical Reasoning Approach (TRA) methodology to achieve its objectives. A secondary source of data was predominantly utilized. The study adopted the Contingency theory to guide it. Through an extensive literature review of concepts and theories under study, the study found that corporate planning is a strong driver of corporate social responsibility. The study therefore recommended that managers should adopt a contingency approach in making managerial choices in corporate social responsibility.
